Privacy policy

Slim is a code editor for macOS made by Tyron s.r.o. It runs on your Mac and works on your files where they are. It has no accounts, no analytics and no telemetry: we do not receive your code, your database contents, your queries or anything about how you use the app.

What stays on your Mac

Your projects are read and written only in their own folders.
What Slim remembers about a project (open tabs, panel sizes, data sources, your own commands) is kept in ~/Library/Application Support/Slim; its search index is a cache in ~/Library/Caches/Slim.
Database and SSH passwords you save are stored in the macOS Keychain, not in a file.

Connections the app makes

Update check. Once a day Slim asks slimphp.eu which version is the newest. This is an ordinary request for a small file, the same as opening this website (see below); nothing about you or your projects is sent with it. You can turn it off in Settings → General. Nothing is downloaded or installed without you.
Your databases and servers. Slim connects to the databases you set up, directly or through SSH, using the details you gave it. Those connections go from your Mac to your servers, not through us.
Claude Code. Slim can start Claude Code, Anthropic's program, if you have it installed. Whatever Claude Code sends goes from your Mac to Anthropic under your own account and Anthropic's terms; we are not part of that exchange. Two optional helpers (session titles and highlighted phrases) ask a model through your Claude Code, using text of that session; each has a switch in Settings → Claude.
On your Mac only. Slim opens a listener on 127.0.0.1 so that the Claude Code sessions it started can talk to it. It is not reachable from the network.

This website

The site is a static page with no cookies, no trackers and nothing loaded from third parties. Our web server's log records the time of a request, the file requested and the outcome — not your IP address and not your browser's identification. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which handles the connection, including your IP address, on our behalf in order to deliver and protect the site.

Crash reports

Slim does not send crash reports to us. If the app crashes, macOS may offer to send a report to Apple, according to your system settings.
